Workshop with David Garrigues - November 11 - 14,  2010

David Garrigues has been a yoga student for over 20 years and spent extensive time in Mysore, India studying with Ashtanga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.  David's approach to yoga also integrates his long time passions for skateboarding and music.  As a skater he continues to be a stylish and innovative long boarder.  As a musician he was part of the emergent music scene in Seattle in the early '80s.

During his first trip to India he began studying tabla and then found a love for singing and has been travelling back annually to study with his singing teacher.  Singing and a keen interest in chanting and ecstatic poetry naturally led him into the practice of Kirtan which he began to share with his students and he now performs regularly.  David has recorded 2 beautiful Kirtan CDs of original music, Jaya Sat Guru and Bad Man Bhakti.

All of David's teachings are rooted in what he learned from Pattabhi Jois, a steadfast dedication to the Ashtanga system as a way to find and develop one's spirituality through healing and transformation on every level.  David instinctively challenges his students in a way that helps to gain a greater understanding of their own authenticity both in their yoga practice and in their every day life.

For more on David see his website and check out his blog & Vimeo clips.
